Wockhardt rallies on USFDA nod for nasal spray
Wockhardt has soared 13% to Rs 343, extending its Tuesday 3% gain, after the company said it has received final approval from the US health regulator to market generic Fluticasone nasal spray used for treating allergic nasal inflammation in the American market.
"The company has received final approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for marketing 50 mcg nasal spray of Fluticasone which is used in treatment of allergic rhinitis," Wockhardt said in a statement on January 10. The company is launching the product immediately in the US market, it added.
The stock opened at Rs 309 and touched high of Rs 344 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). A total 1.05 million shares have changed hands on the counter till noon deals on the NSE and BSE.
