Idea Cellular has moved higher by 5% at Rs 88.30 after reporting strong 90% quarter-on-quarter (q-o-q) growth in net profit at Rs 201 crore for December compared with Rs 105.76 crore in the previous quarter.
 
Income from operations grew 9% at Rs 5,020 crore on q-o-q basis, while EBITA margins improved by 1.2% at 23.7% over the previous quarter.
 
“This quarter, the strong revenue growth is primarily led by seasonal return of minute’s growth to 114 billion, supported by high 7.5 million net VLR subscriber additions during Q3FY12 against 3.2 million in Q2FY12," the Aditya Birla Group telecom service provider said in a filing to the stock exchanges.
 
The business outlook remains a paradox, a combination of tailwinds with strong customer traction and headwinds emerging from uncertain regulatory intervention and macro-economic environment, it added.
 
A combined 6.3 million shares have changed hands on the counter so far on the NSE and BSE.
