LIC Housing Finance has posted a growth of 43% in net profit for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 at Rs 305.69 crore as compared to Rs 213.49 crore for the corresponding quarter a year ago, according to a release filed with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

During the period, total income has increased 18% to Rs 1,593 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 from Rs 1,354.42 crore in the same quarter last fiscal, the release said.

At 1425 hours, the shares of the company were trading up 1.3% at Rs 254.90 apiece on the BSE.
