Mahindra Satyam surges on better-than-expected Q3 earnings

Mahindra Satyam has surged 5% to Rs 80 after reporting better-than-expected 29.4% quarter-on-quarter (qoq) growth in net profit at Rs 308 crore for the third quarter ended December 2011 compared with Rs 238 crore in the previous quarter.
“Revenue climbed 8.9% to Rs 1,718 crore from Rs 1,578 crore in the second quarter, while EBIDTA margins expand by 87 bps qoq to 16.2%,“ Satyam said in a stock exchange filing.
A combined 175,000 shares have changed hands on the counter in opening deals on both the exchanges.
