ACC hits 4-yr high post Jan dispatches nos

ACC is trading higher by 3% at Rs 1,239, its highest level since October 2007, after said its sales grew nearly 9% to 2.23 million tones (mt) in January compared to the same month a year ago.

The cement manufacturer, in which Swiss major Holcim holds majority stake, had sold 2.05 mt in January 2011. Production also increased to 2.25 mt from 2.06 mt during the month, it said in a statement.

As many as 554,080 shares have changed hands on the counter so far, against an average 320,000 shares that were traded daily in past ten trading days on the NSE and BSE.
