Tata Steel posted a consolidated net loss of Rs 602.67 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2011.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 1,003.02 crore in the corresponding quarter last financial year, Tata Steel said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

However, consolidated total income during the third quarter rose 14.68% to Rs 33,241.37 crore from Rs 28,985.12 crore in the year-ago period, it added.

Shares of the company today settled at Rs 451, up marginally from its previous close on the BSE.
