Tata Motors global sales up 12% in May
Tata Motors today said its global sales grew 12% in May to 96,089 units over the same period last year.
Sales of luxury brands from Jaguar Land Rover were at 30,094 units during May, up 35% from the same month last year, Tata Motors said in a statement.
While sales of luxury sedans of Jaguar brand increased by 3% last month to 4,342 units, Land Rover sales were up 42% at 25,752 units, it added.
The company said total passenger vehicles sales stood at 20,970 units in May, 2012, up 6% from the same month last year.
Commercial vehicles sales grew 3% to 45,025 units from the same month last year, it added.
Tata Motors Group's global sales comprises Tata, Tata Daewoo and Hispano Carrocera range of commercial vehicles, Tata passenger vehicles, along with the distributed brands in India, Jaguar and Land Rover.
