Avaya GlobalConnect up 7% on takeover buzz by Aegis

Avaya GlobalConnect is trading 7% higher at Rs 282 on reports that Aegis, the business process outsourcing arm of the Essar Group, is in advanced talks to acquire the company.
“Aegis is expected to pay Rs 230-235 per share to acquire the 59.13% promoter’s stake in the company. Avaya Inc, the US based business communication systems provider, owns this take in the company through Avaya Mauritius (33.63%) and Avaya International LLC (25.5%)&" the reports added.
After a weak start today, the stock touched high of Rs 295 in noon deals. It has seen 329,000 shares change hands on the BSE so far.
