Metal shares soar as LMEX at nears its four-month high

The shares of metal companies are trading firm today after LMEX – a gauge of six metals – surged 4% during the last week to 3,462 levels, closing in on its four-month high. The rub-ff effect is being felt on shares of Indian companies with the BSE Metal Index trading up 2%. It is the biggest gainer among sectoral indices.
Hindalco, Tata Steel, Sterlite Industries, Jindal Saw, Steel Authority of India, Hindustan Zinc, Welspun Corp, JSW Steel and Jindal Steel & Power are trading at 2%-4% higher on the BSE.
Among individual counters, Hindalco is the largest gainer, up nearly 4% at Rs 177 levels. The company plans to spend around Rs 21,000 crore on capital expenditure in next two financial years.
