Tractor maker HMT today ventured into the four-wheel drive market by unveiling three new tractors here at the CII Agro Tech 2010 fair.

These new tractors are HMT 6522-4WD, HMT 5022 RX and HMT 4022 PS, said a release here. With HMT 6522-4WD tractor, the company is venturing into the niche market for four wheel drive tractors.

Four wheel drive tractors which are generally used in Europe and USA have more traction power than the conventional two wheel drive tractors, it said, adding its tractor has synchromesh gear box for smooth shifting of gears, built-in power steering in front drive axle and cera metallic heavy duty dry dual clutch for longer, trouble-free operations, it said.

HMT 5022 RX model comes with power steering with balanced cylinder for better maneuverability, has low turning radius, oil immersed disc brakes for longer life and better safety, new attractive sheet metal stylig, bigger front and rear tyres for more traction power, it said.

HMT is also entering into specialised farm implements for application with tractors. Its team of engineers has developed HMT Rotavator-50 a multi-utility implement which has also been exhibited at the Agro Tech 2010, release said.

It added that HMT Rotavator-50 provides optimum ploughing and incorporation of plant residue and aggressive entry into hard soil while requiring less horsepower.
