SI Reporter / Mumbai 10 Mar 11 | 10:09 AM
Bayer Cropscience has rallied 6% at Rs 834 in an otherwise weak market on reports that the realty developer Kalpataru is close to acquiring the company's plot admeasuring 108-acre at Thane near Mumbai for about Rs 1,400 crore.
“Kalpataru had revised its bid from the earlier figures of around Rs 1,300 crore which was the second highest for the plot behind DB Realty’s Rs 1,540 crore bid. However, DB Realty withdrew its bid in February," the newspaper report suggests.
The stock of Bayer Cropscience opened at Rs 815 and touched a high of Rs 868 on the NSE. A combined 72,322 shares have changed hands on the counter so far on both the exchanges.
