PVR rallies on expansion plans

PVR has rallied almost 8% to Rs 125 in morning trades on reports that the company plans to invest around Rs 580 crore to set up six entertainment cities and additional 350 screens across the country over the next three years.
The theatre chain operator has lined up an investment of Rs 300 crore for the screen expansion programme, which would be funded through a mix of internal accruals and debt. At present, PVR Cinemas has 154 screens across 35 properties, reports suggest.
A combined 59,403 shares have changed hands on the counter till 1038 hours.
