Volume Shockers: Venky's India, Talwalkars
Venky’s India, Talwalkars Better Value Fitness, Hathway Cable and Datacom, United Breweries (Holdings) and Mandhana Industries have rallied more than 8% each on back of huge volumes on the bourses.
Venky’s India has soared 18% to Rs 485 with trading volumes surging almost thirty times. As many as a combined 1.59 million shares have changed hands on the counter till 1344 hours, as against an average less than 50,000 shares that were traded daily in past two weeks.
Hathway Cable and Datacom rallied 17% to Rs 108 on buzz that the Union Cabinet has approved an ordinance for cable network digitisation. The trading volumes on the counter surged twenty-five fold, with a combined 5.62 million shares are traded on both the exchanges.
United Breweries (Holdings) has zoomed 14% to Rs 124 after UB Group sold a stake of 42.5% in its Formula 1 team – Force India – to Subroto Roy-led Sahara Group. The team would henceforth be known as Sahara Force India. A combined trading volumes more than doubled with total 1.05 million shares have changed hands till late afternoon deals.
Talwalkars Better Value Fitness, Mandhana Industries, Zydus Wellness and Agro Tech Foods are the other stocks that have rallied more than 10% each and where trading volumes on these counters has more than doubled.
