BEML rebounds on bagging Jaipur metro orders
BEML is trading higher by 2% to Rs 471, bouncing back over 4% from the day’s low of Rs 452, on bagging Rs 318 crore Jaipur metro orders.
“BEML will manufacture, supply, test and commission 10 train sets of 4-car each, totalling 40 cars for the Jaipur metro project. The company has anticipated that orders worth another Rs 60 crore may be forthcoming for the Jaipur Metro," the state-owned mini-ratna company said in a filing to the stock exchanges.
With an order book of over Rs 6,000 crore, BEML is set to achieve a turnover of Rs 4,300 crore for the current financial year and Rs 5,000 crore in 2013-14, which is the company's golden jubilee year, it added.
The stock opened at Rs 465 and hit a high of Rs 473 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The trading volumes on the counter more than doubled, with a combined 80,000 shares changing hands so far, against an average sub-40,000 shares traded daily in the past ten trading days on the NSE and BSE.
