UB Group firm McDowell Holdings today posted a net profit of Rs 2.63 crore for the year ended March 31, 2010.

The company had posted a loss of Rs 1.10 crore in the previous fiscal, McDowell Holdings said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The income from operations for the 2009-10 financial year rose over three folds to Rs 6.62 crore from Rs 1.89 crore in 2008-09 fiscal, it added.

The company's investments are primarily in UB group, which is engaged in the manufacturing, sales and export of beer, chemicals and fertilisers.

McDowell Holdings operates in two segments -- investments and financial services.
