Ranbaxy tanks on filing consent decree in US court

Ranbaxy Laboratories has dipped 7% at Rs 442 after the company signed the consent decree with the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) last month and filed with the Department of Justice in federal court in Maryland on January 25 requires Ranbaxy to relinquish 180-day marketing exclusivity for three pending generic drug applications.
According to reports, India’s biggest drugmaker, may forgo at least $200 million (approx Rs 1,000 crore) in sales as a result of a proposed settlement with U.S. authorities over manufacturing violations.
